After a long time, Dragon City has
finally gotten some nifty new updates that can keep all the players busy. At
the time of updating the Dragon City Breeding guide, only unique dragons from
the past are currently available in the Deus Vault. We expect completely unique
dragons to be available in the future.
To breed the Dragon City unique
dragons, you WILL have to do the research first to obtain the
formula. As it
seems that Socialpoint is still fine tuning the cost of these research. Once
you have completed the research, you will obtain the secret dragon breeding
formulas to breed unique dragons. However, we have provided the following
unique dragon breeding combos to help you get started even before you obtain
the right research.
Like all of the available dragon
breeding recipes listed in this guide. These combos are not 100%. Depending on
the different unique dragon breeds, we estimate the chances to be roughly
15%~25%. This means that you may still have to do a couple of tries before you
can get the unique dragons. MAKE SURE YOU DO THE RESEARCH before attempting
these breeding combos. Breed attempts without the proper research done has 0%
chance of succeeding.
Please note that we have opt out to
put research cost of these associated unique dragon breeds. We expect the price
to fluctuate a bit during their A/B testing. Your best bet is to buy and complete
any Deus Vault unique dragon research if they are available in gold.

Notes: Dragon City Opposing Element Breeding
In this list that we have provided,
there are some breeds that include elements that are opposed to each other.
This means that you cannot normally breed them directly. However, you can use
hybrid dragons that contain the opposing elements to breed the hybrid dragons.
Because hybrid is used in the breeding process, this means that you will not be
able to get the dragon that you want 100% of the time, so just keep on trying
until you breed the Dragon City dragons that you need!
Notes: Dragon City Breeding Rarity Booster
Just in the past week of October,
the Dragon City developer has opened a new feature named the Breeding Rarity
Booster which can be used to boost your breeding chances. Based on some
preliminary testing on our part, we have determined the rate to be roughly
“twice” of its original breeding chance.
This means that “if” you have
roughly 30% chance at getting legendary ranked dragons, with the rarity booster
you will have doubled that amount at 60%. However, with the same reasoning, the
effect of rarity booster is really limited when it comes to Pure and Pure
Element combinations. We estimate the chance of breeding the Pure ranked
dragons at about 5~10%. Which means that the Rarity booster really only
effectively gives you 5%~10% more (nevertheless it still doubles the chance
which helps you get them twice as fast, or even faster). Please note that we do
not have the exact % of breeding chances, we simply observe that the Rarity
booster is dependent on the original “rare” chance.
Gamelytic’s verdict on Dragon Breed
Rarity Booster: It will be a better investment
into breeding trees if you have not done so. Save your precious gems for the
special event dragons instead of pushing for higher breeding success chance via
the Rarity booster. When you get to a later level, there is much left to do
except to collect the event dragons while letting your Dragon breeding schedule
run.
Notes: Update for Dragon Breeding Times
In the past week or so, Social Point
seems to be running some testing by assigning different breeding times for the
dragons. This test now seems to have been rolled out to the majority of the
players which we now call it a breeding time update.
Before the update, the breeding time
is purely based upon the parents of the dragon pair. With this update, the
Dragon City breeding time is now directly related to how rare the egg hybrid
offspring is. For example, legendary and pure level eggs can take up to 24~48
hours for breeding. For the generation 1~2 hybrids can generally take 4~16
hours. This update is good in a way that you can get more breeding tries within
shorter period of time. This means that if you play consistently throughout the
day, you can get your rares faster within shorter time frame. Failed non-rare
eggs will simply take shorter breeding time.
